Welcome to Cronin’s cosy bed & breakfast in Heinola
Cronin's Guesthouse is an idyllic B&B and summer bistro in Heinola, in the most beautiful countryside and lake district of the southern Finland, just about an hour's drive from Helsinki. The Guesthouse has 6 comfortable rooms with ensuite facilities and a cosy summer bistro- bar with an authentic atmosphere and great variety of beers.

THE guestrooms
All six comfortable rooms are suitable to accommodate 2 - 4 guests. Each room is equipped with a toilet & shower, TV, WiFi and 5 rooms also have a balcony. Breakfast is served in the restaurant and in the summertime (June-middle August) our bistro-bar is open 4 days a week (Wed-Sat), too.
Sauna for hotel guests
You can order a private sauna from us, price 15 €/1 hour (price for max. 2 guests). Or family sauna (2 adults + max. 3 children) 18€/hour.
SUMMER BISTRO & BAR
Breakfast is served to our house guests daily. In the summertime (year 2024 12.6.-10.8.24) bistro-pub is open 4 days a week, from Wednesday till Saturday 4.30pm-9pm.

Other times the restaurant can be booked for groups. Our house guests can buy drinks and snacks from the bar to the room.
The idyllic summer Bistro & Pub is an ideal rest stop for all travelers. In the café you can enjoy beautiful cakes or small savories and snacks. We also have a nice selection of beers and whiskeys. On the summer terrace you can enjoy refreshments whilst watching beautiful sunsets over the lakeside scenery. Our friendly staff will always do their very best to make their guests feel homely and relaxed.
OUR LOCATION
Cronin's Guesthouse is located in the scenic landscape in Heinola (20 000 inhabitants), about 80 minute drive from Helsinki, 20 minutes from Lahti and only 5 minutes from Heinola town centre. This area is the first huge lake district after driving from Helsinki to north
Arrival by car to cronin’s guesthouse:
If you're arriving from south (from Helsinki, Lahti, Tampere etc.) drive along the motorway E75 direction north (=Heinola, Jyväskylä direction). Take the exit number 22/ MYLLYOJA, then at the exit turn left to Heinola. Now you're on road number 140. Just drive about 800 meters and you'll see a brown sign Cronin's. So at the next junction turn left again (junction KAUSA). Now put your brakes on - our guesthouse is the very first house on the right, only 50 meters from the junction.
When entering Heinola from the north (from Kuopio, Jyväskylä etc.) driving the motorway E75, take the exit number 23/MYLLYOJA (this exit is just after a beautiful big bridge of Heinola). At the exit turn first left, then drive about 150 meters and at the end of the road turn right to Lahti and Myllyoja, road number 140. Drive along road 140 for about 3 km and you'll see a big brown sign Cronin's. So at the next junction turn right (junction KAUSA). Now put your brakes on - our guesthouse is the very first house on the right, only 50 meters from the junction.
ARRIVAL BY BUS:
There are quite good bus connections to Heinola and the local busses from Lahti to Heinola stop just in front of our house. Should you need more information, please do not hesitate to contact us, we'll be glad to give you the timetables etc. From Helsinki you can also get a cheap Onnibus (www.onnibus.fi) to Heinola town.
By train:
You cannot get to Heinola by train, the closest train station is in Lahti (28km away) and from there you need to take a local bus or a taxi to Heinola. The train station and the bus station are next to each other in Lahti, so it's no problem to change from train to bus in Lahti.

Marika Cronin warmly welcomes you to stay ather idyllic guesthouse and is pleased to answer questions about the area and nearby attractions and places of interest.
Marika is from Lahti (near Heinola), but she has also lived and worked abroad for several years (in Switzerland and Germany) and speaks fluent German and English.
Cronin's Guesthouse was opened in March 2003. Before this the guesthouse was called Gasthaus Mühlenstube, run by a German-Finnish family. The guesthouse has been up and running for already 3 decades.
